Agricultural machinery - Safety - Compact carriers
This document specifies the safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of compact carriers. It is intended to be used together with EN ISO 4254-1:2015. When provisions of this document are different from those which are stated in EN ISO 4254-1:2015, the provisions of this document take precedence over the provisions of EN ISO 4254-1:2015 for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this document. This document deals with the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to compact carriers, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer but also taking into account any reasonably foreseeable misuse thereof (see Annex A). In addition, this document specifies the type of information on safe working practices that is provided by the manufacturer. The following significant and relevant hazards are not covered in this document: - design of machinery to facilitate its handling; - external radiation; - laser radiation; - lightning; - falling objects; - towing devices; - transmission of power between self-propelled machinery (or tractor) and recipient machinery; and hazards related to: - the presence of a seated operator; - the environment on compact carrier intended for pesticide application; - lifting operations; - lifting of persons.
