Water - Analysis of eukaryotic algae and cyanobacteria in water by means of fluorescence measurements

This standard describes the method for quantifying algae and cyanobacteria by means of fluorescence measurements. Fluorescence measurements on eukaryotic algae and cyanobacteria provide an indication of the biomass present in water. Depending on the instrument used, two or more groups can be distinguished. All instruments can distinguish cyanobacteria from other phytoplankton. The standard applies to fresh, brackish or saline surface waters and process water.
